What is good career for me to go into? I’m deciding between becoming a physical therapist?

Cala asked:

What is good career for me to go into? I’m deciding between becoming a physical therapist, occupational therapist, and physician’s assistant. Does anyone know if getting a masters in physical therapy would be sufficient or is a doctorate going to be required soon? Is going into the health field a bad idea with the potential universal health care?

Thank you!

The DPT is required by the year 2020. There are only a handful of programs that offer the MPT. There is a lot of overlap between PT and OT. PA and OT are MS programs. Do some shadowing to see what you are interested in. The pre reqs are similiar for all three.

Right now healthcare is the way to go.

as of now most places still accept a ba for physical and occupational therapy. some places are starting to require a masters however there is a shortage in both so they shouldnt be so picky. also a doctorate degree would be a lit over board for a therapy job like this. good luck deciding i still go back and forth physical therapy or police officer dont know.

OT minimum for graduation since 2007 is now a Masters, PT minimum for graduation is now a doctorate, although i believe there are still a few masters programs left. PA is a masters i think, all are good fields with good pay, you may want to job shadow one of each to figure out what best suits you.
