What major could I have if I wanted to be a physical therapist or in some other type of medical career?

Sounds like you are in the wrong college, then. How about a biology major with a physiology concentration. Or a “phys-ed” (kinesiology) major?

The medical industry holds a variety of different occupations from the obvious nurse and doctor occupations to adminstrative occupations. My sister really wanted to work in this field, but she wasn’t certain exactly what she really wanted to do. She stumbled upon the site in the resource box below, it has lots of instruction, and it guided her to settle what she really wanted to do. They have guidance with other jobs too.

You may want to talk to a counselor at your school. Take lots of math and science!

To enter a graduate program such as physical therapy, you just need an undergraduate degree and the courses required to get into the program. There is not one specific program that meets all the needs of all PT students. I would just choose a major the encompasses the courses for the program to which you hope to apply. It may vary between schools, but most PT programs require a year each of general chemistry, bio, and physics, as well as physiology, anatomy and physiology, psychology, statistics, trig and/or calc. Most students choose majors such as kinesiology, movement scineces, exercise science, biology, etc.
